How to calculate organic Leads potential for SEO?

Before diving into any SEO project, planning is key. As a business owner or agency owner, you might wonder:

How to calculate organic Leads potential for SEO?

When will my website start generating leads from organic searches?

While predicting the exact timeframe is tricky, you can estimate the potential number of leads your website can attract using search terms and some key factors. Here's a simplified breakdown:

Identify Relevant Search Terms:
Brainstorm keywords people might use to find your businesses/services. Use SEO tools for Keywords Research to find relevant data with search volume (average number of monthly searches)

Search Volume Analysis:
Determine the average monthly search volume for each keyword using tools like Google Keyword Planner or SEMrush.

Click-Through Rate (CTR) Estimation:
Some other factors that can affect Click-Through Rate (CTR), like how compelling your website title and description are in the search results. Estimate the percentage of clicks your website might receive for each keyword based on its ranking position. Higher-ranking pages typically receive more clicks.
(In my case, I assume 2% CTR)

Conversion Rate Assessment:
Understand your website's historical conversion rate, i.e., the percentage of website visitors who become leads or customers

Calculation: Multiply the search volume of each keyword by its estimated CTR and conversion rate. Then, sum up these values across all relevant keywords to get your estimated organic leads per month. We will learn with the following example. Lets Start !

Here's a simplified formula:

Estimated Organic Leads = (Total Search Volume * Estimated CTR * Conversion Rate)

This formula helps you project the number of potential leads your website could generate through organic search traffic each month. Keep in mind that these are estimates, and actual results may vary based on various factors like competition, seasonality, and changes in search engine algorithms. Regular monitoring and adjustments are essential to refine your SEO strategy and improve lead generation over time.

Example
Let's say you're working on a website to attract students to your Java course. You picked some keywords to optimize your site for search engines.

We previously explored a formula for estimating organic leads based on search volume, click-through rate (CTR), and conversion rate

Estimated Organic Leads = (Total Search Volume * Estimated CTR * Conversion Rate)

Let's break it down simply:

Step 1 - Calculate CTR : let's estimate that out of every 100 searches, 2 people click on the result. This is a common assumption we'll use for now.

Estimated CTR  = (Total Search Volume * 2/100)

Step 2 - Estimated Conversion : Conversion rate can be easily estimated using CTR. Lets assume 1% represents your estimated conversion rate based on the CTR.

Estimated Organic Leads = (Total Search Volume * 1/100)

Based on these assumptions, we can expect to generate approximately 4 leads per month from this course/services/page.
